Cheerleading isn’t just for those who want to compete. It’s also a fantastic way for children to stay active, make new friends and build confidence in a supportive environment. At Aqua Elite, our recreational cheerleading classes are designed for young people who want to enjoy all the benefits of cheerleading without the pressure of competitions!

What Are Recreational Cheerleading Classes?

Recreational classes focus on fun, fitness and learning new skills. Athletes are introduced to the core elements of cheerleading, including stunts, tumbling, and dance, but the emphasis is always on enjoyment and personal progress. These sessions are perfect for beginners looking to try something new, or for children who simply want to take part in a team activity without a competitive element.

The Benefits

Taking part in recreational cheerleading classes helps children to:

  • Stay active in a fun, engaging way
  • Develop coordination, strength and flexibility
  • Learn teamwork and communication skills
  • Build self-esteem and confidence
  • Make new friends in a positive environment

Our coaches work hard to ensure that every session is welcoming, inclusive and adapted to suit the needs of the group.

Where We Hold Recreational Sessions

We run recreational cheerleading classes across several locations, with timings designed to fit around school and family life. Classes are open to a wide range of ages and abilities, and no prior experience is needed- just plenty of enthusiasm!

Orpington: Lunchtime cheerleading club at Warren Road Primary School, helping pupils build coordination, teamwork and confidence.

Chislehurst: Saturday morning sessions at Chislehurst School for Girls, teaching basic stunts, movement and teamwork in a friendly setting.

South Norwood: After-school cheerleading at South Norwood Primary School every Thursday, open to pupils at the school, covering a range of cheerleading skills without competitive pressure.
