Aqua Elite offers everything cheerleading for 4 year olds should be: an opportunity to get involved in sport, dance and gymnastics, make lots of new friends, and all the support needed to learn and grow! If your child loves to stay active, cheerleading is the perfect new hobby. Our classes currently run across Bromley and South East London, based in local schools and venues. Our first Baby Rain class will begin on Friday 6th Feb 2026, 4:15-5pm. Sign up today!
Why Start Cheerleading at Age Four?
At four years old, children are becoming more confident in their movement, communication, and ability to follow simple routines. Cheerleading helps build on these skills while encouraging creativity, teamwork, and self-belief.
Our sessions are lively and upbeat but structured, helping children feel secure while still allowing them to explore movement and express themselves. Our coaches are fully trained and experienced in working with children of all ages.
Benefits of Cheerleading for 4 Year Olds
Cheerleading offers a wide range of physical and developmental benefits, including:
- Improving coordination, balance, and overall motor skills
- Developing musicality through movement to music and counts
- Learning basic cheer motions and movement patterns
- Building memory and focus by recalling skills from week to week
- Encouraging social skills such as teamwork and turn-taking
- Providing a fun, healthy way to burn off energy
All skills are introduced gradually, with plenty of encouragement to help children build confidence at their own pace.
Settle In To School With The Help Of Cheerleading
Starting school is a big milestone, and joining a cheerleading club can help children aged 4 develop many of the same skills they use in the classroom. Learning to listen to instructions, take turns, persevere, work as part of a team and celebrate each other’s achievements are all skills that will help ease the transition into full-time school.
As children become more familiar with weekly classes, they also benefit from routine and consistency. Seeing the same coaches and teammates each week helps them develop a sense of familiarity, while learning new skills gives them a real sense of achievement. Whether they are mastering a new cheer motion or performing a short routine, every milestone is recognised and celebrated!
Progress With Aqua Elite!
If your child enjoys cheerleading, they can continue training with Aqua Elite all the way through to age 16. As skills and confidence grow, children may be invited to audition for our competitive teams, which perform at events and competitions across the country.
Our pre-competition team, Mermaids, starts from age 5, offering a natural next step for young cheerleaders who are ready for more challenge. Progression is always child-led, ensuring each student develops at a pace that suits them.
Our Coaching Team
Our experienced coaching team is passionate about helping every child enjoy their first experience of cheerleading. All Aqua Elite coaches are DBS checked, first aid trained, and experienced in teaching children of all ages. Every session is carefully planned to be fun, engaging and age-appropriate, with safety at the heart of everything we do.
